      In the 1960s, a couple of entrepreneurs Jacques and Angèle Melkonian invented the concept of “STANDARD EXCHANGE”, a clever formula that guarantees continuous operation of sites 24/7.

    • 1970


      Following the success of this first concept, Continental Industrie launched the "CUSTOM MADE" concept, which consists of manufacturing, on demand, products that adapt perfectly to the specific conditions of each site.

    • 1980


      Diversification of Continental Industrie into after-sales service for mining machines and specialisation of their mechanics.

    • 1985


      Signing of a distribution contract between Continental Industrie and Wagner Mining Equipment, for selling the complete range of Wagner machines in France and French-speaking Africa.

    • 1989

      Wagner Mining Equipment was bought up by the Atlas Copco Group, international leader in mine, quarry, training, demolition and compressed air equipment and technology. Thanks to its commercial success, Continental Industrie became a partner of the Atlas Copco Group and increased its range of products, services and geographical areas. .

    • 1990


      The closure of French mines marked a turning point in the history and organisation of the company.

      Geneviève, Marc and Christophe Melkonian, the three children, joined the company in order successfully to meet the challenge of international development.

    • 1994


      RSigning of a contract between CI and Getman.
      Continental Industrie becomes Continental Aramine.
      Manufacture of utility vehicles for underground mines in order to offer a complete range that will meet all your needs.

    • 2000


      With a unique MULTI-PRODUCT / MULTI-SERVICE strategy, the company is positioned on five continents, in more than 70 countries, and exports become more of an everyday reality than a challenge: The success of a young, dynamic, competent and motivated team.

    • 2001 / 2003


      Increase of our locations abroad with the creation of a network of highly specialised subsidiaries in the proximity of major mining sites to be closer to your needs: Estonia, Mexico, India and many others on five continents.

      Continental Aramine changes its name to Aramine.

    • 2004


      Project to build a new head office, to provide the extra resources
      we need to serve you better.

      One of our challenges: to recondition machines on demand
      in less than one month.

    • 2006


      New head office opened by Christine Lagarde, acting Minister of Foreign Trade.

      New corporate identity for the Group and all its subsidiaries.

    • 2008


      Crédit Agricole became a shareholder of Aramine.

    • 2010


      With a continuous growth for more than 15 years, the company continues its internationalization.

    • 2012


      Following the unquestionable success of its range for narrow vein mining, Aramine continues to expand its products’ family.
      A product range 100% manufactured in Aramine Loaders workshops and exported in 70 countries.
